PV Farm Earthing System Design

Shotwick Solar Park

UK's Largest Solar Park

Located in Deeside, with an installed capacity of 72.2MW, Shotwick Solar Park is presently the largest solar park and the largest private wire connection in the UK. The solar park is connected to the UPM paper manufacturing plant at 132kV. The project was commissioned in 2016.

Caledonia Bus Depot

UK's Largest EV Charging Hub

The First Bus Caledonia Depot is the UK’s largest bus depot. It is presently undergoing a phased re-development which will lead to its transformation as the UK’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging hub with space to charge up to 300 EV buses on site. The site is situated in Glasgow, Scotland.

Dunmaglass Wind Farm

Scotland's Highest Wind Farm

Installed 700m above sea level, Dunmaglass Wind Farm is the highest wind farm in Scotland, situated near Inverness. The wind farm which is connected to the electrical network at 275kV comprises 33 turbines with a total generation capacity of 94.05MW. The project became operational in 2017.

Mount Lucas Wind Farm

Ireland's Largest Wind Farm

Mount Lucas Wind Farm was the largest Irish wind farm when commissioned in 2014. It consists of 28 turbines with a total generation capacity of 84MW connecting to the electrical network at 110kV. The wind farm is situated in Offaly, Ireland.

Energy From Waste Plant

Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre (CERC) is a 30MW energy from waste plant connected to the electrical network at 132kV. The plant which became operational in 2017 is situated in Cornwall, England.

Staunch Battery-STOR

Hybrid Battery-STOR Plant

The Staunch project which was commissioned in 2017 comprises a combination of containerized batteries and engines with an installed capacity of 20MW. The plant is situated near Newcastle-under-Lyme, in the UK midlands.

Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm

Large-Scale Offshore Wind Farm

Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm otherwise known as the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre is located just off the coast of Aberdeen, Scotland. The project is connected to the electrical network at 132kV and comprises 11 turbines with a total generation capacity of 96.8MW. The offshore wind farm became operational in 2018.

Mynydd y Betws Wind Farm

Large-Scale Wind Farm

Mynydd y Betws Wind Farm is located in south Wales and comprises 15 turbines with a total generation capacity of 34.5MW which is connected to the electrical network at 132kV. The wind farm became operational in 2013.

Parc Cynog Solar Farm

Co-Located Solar and Wind Farm

Parc Cynog Solar Farm is co-located with the 11 turbine Parc Cynog Wind Farm in Wales with both sharing the same grid connection. The solar array has a 4.99MW generation capacity. Construction of the solar farm began in January 2016 and became fully operational by March 2016.
